Falling into the fall season….
“ I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see. ” – John Burroughs
This has been a very busy few weeks for me. Between fund raising for charities, the beginning of what my friends call ‘the birthday season’, taking and editing photos and of course trying to maneuver my way through my daily functions…. I’ve been exhausted. And, consequently feeling disconnected from the very person I’m usually the most in tune with. Last night seemed to mend that.
I came home after work to find our kitchen transformed into what was described as a “pumpkin carving station”. Knowing that this is my favorite season ever, what better way to spend some time with each other than to carve a couple pumpkins together.
Of course, Meika wanted to help.
And she really got into the Halloween spirit!
Early certainly tried to join in too.
While we worked, we munched on pumpkin seeds.
Tommy’s pumpkin is a true testament to his artistic ability…
Mine…well, I’m not sure I like its attitude!

This weekend, we have wonderful plans for visiting an orchard, a chili cook-off and lots of family time.
As always, Meik is one of my main subjects of photos. But, can you blame me with this beautiful face??
