fa la freakin’ la….
I was determined to ride on the momentum that I had built up about the holidays this year. The “ohh myy god! look at that beautiful ornament! its perfect !” kind of cheer. You know, the sparkle to the eye that only comes from a “Holy Clark Griswold, those lights are amazing!” sort of experience. Oh, I was dead set on making this season happy and spirited. I even swore off any sadness that tried to creep up into the back of my mind. . .
But, one can only do that for so long. And through so much. Sometimes, any amount of momentum is just not enough to plow through the heaviness of disappointment or pain that will last a life time.
Lets just say that I have really learned that if I anticipate things going a certain way, they usually veer off in a totally different direction.
I also realize that no amount of festive bullshit is going to make me feel better through my every day stresses or through missing someone that I can not bring back.
Despite this, we did decorate…id say its coming along nicely. Photos to follow soon.
Update: I heard a lil factoid on the radio last night (ahem… B101 the ALL Holiday station) that only 22% of people have “decked the halls” so far. Come on people, ya’ll are slackin!!
